Daniel Pausch (the elder) (* around 1618 in Frühbuß ; buried December 2, 1686 there ) was a Bohemian tradesman , court assistant and mountain master of Frühbuß.

Life

He was possibly the son of Gabriel Pausch, who held the office of judge from 1639 to 1644, and his wife Catharina born. Zencker. The family originally came from Trinksaifen and had the surname Zettel or Zöttel there . In the same way as most of the residents of the town, he was active in the tin mining industry . According to the tax roll of 1654, he operated half a shaft and was also a court assessor there. In order not to lose his property and his position, he converted to Catholicism during the Counter Reformation . After the death of the mountain master von Frühbuss, Elias Baumgärtel , in 1678, he was appointed his successor. He held the office until his death in 1686. Due to the increased demand for tinplate in the second half of the 17th century, the mining industry in early penance experienced a second economic boom during his tenure and received new mining privileges. His sons Johannes and Christian Pausch were also active as a pewter in Frühbuß.
