Ferdi Huick

Ferdi Huick (born May 2, 1940 in Düsseldorf ; † April 6, 2006 in Wilkenroth ) was a speaker at the Cologne Carnival . He had television and radio appearances as Der Bergische Landbote and was a member of the regulars' table of Cologne carnivalists.

Huick was a trained lathe operator, but early on he dedicated himself to the Carnival in Düsseldorf. He appeared as "Father Rhine" and was a member of the KG Wibbelstätz. Ferdi Huick had his breakthrough in 1983 when he was accepted into the Cologne company Muuzemändelcher . In his appearances he embodied the types "Bundeswehr soldier", "Tippelbruder" and finally, as a highlight, the "Bergische Landbote".

Huick ended all hand-made speeches with the now famous closing words: “And when the cow in the barn swings its udder and then the chorus of country women sings, and when the rooster crows on the dung, then you know that you are in the Bergisches Land”.

Honors

In 2006, Ferdi Huick was awarded the "Hätz vun Kölle" ("Dat Hätz vun Kölle" = "The Heart of Cologne") on the ZDF show Karnevalissimo .
