Ferdinand August Louvier

Ferdinand August Louvier (born October 14, 1830 in Hamburg ; † September 30, 1900 there ) was a German educator and writer.

Life

Louvier began his professional career as a class teacher in a private school at the age of 15 . At the same time he continued his education and training. In 1852 he became a teacher of modern languages ​​at a boys' school . In 1861 Ferdinand August Louvier founded a secondary school for girls in Hamburg-St. Georg , which lasted over 17 years.

He wrote guides for French teaching for six years of teaching, which by 1888 had reached a total of 20 editions. His teaching concept of clarity and naturalness, especially in foreign languages, earned him recognition. Louvier carried out various researches and published works on Goethe's Faust .

Louvier had been married to Adele Blunck since 1858.
