Ferdinand Büchler

Ferdinand Buechler (* 27. October 1853 in Eschlikon ; † 1. June 1935 in Herisau ; heimatberechtigt in Eschlikon) was a Swiss businessman , mayor , Cantonal and Councilor of the Canton of Appenzell Outer Rhodes .

Life

Ferdinand Büchler was a son of Ferdinand Büchler and Angelika Gutersohn. He married Maria Schoch. After training as a businessman, he was the owner of the drugstore zur Tanne in Herisau from 1877 . From 1895 to 1900 he was a member of the Herisau municipal council . From 1907 to 1909 he was District Court President of the Hinterland district . From 1919 to 1923 he served as mayor . From 1903 to 1909 and from 1919 to 1927 he was a member of the Ausserrhoder Cantonal Council. From 1909 to 1919 he held the office of government council. As president of the cantonal bank from 1910 to 1913, he realized the state and bank building on Herisauer Obstmarkt. From 1922 to 1929 he was a member of the church council . From 1928 to 1929 he served as Synod President .
