Ferdinand Baldia (architect)
Ferdinand Baldia (born August 23, 1860 in Vienna ; † December 8, 1936 there ) was an academic architect and master builder in Ottakring , which later became the 16th district of Vienna.
biography
Ferdinand Baldia was born on August 23, 1860 in Ottakring , today's 16th district of Vienna. He studied from 1880 to 1884 at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna under the master builder and architect Theophil von Hansen (1813-1891), with whom he went on a two-month study trip to Italy. In 1895 he received the master builder license and two years later he joined the Association for Builders in Lower Austria. In 1903 he became a member of the Hansen-Klub (association of former Theophil von Hansen - pupils), was in the citizens' association of the City of Vienna - local branch Ottakring and in the Reichsbund der Haus- und Grundbesitzer Wien.
Private
His father Ferdinand Mathias Baldia (1818–1869) was a councilor and property owner in Ottakring . Baldiagasse in Vienna-Ottakring was named after him. His mother Josefa (1833–1907) was the daughter of Mathias Gansterer (1791–1849), after whom Gansterergasse in Vienna-Ottakring was named. In 1904 he married Ludmilla Steinbauer (1879–1968) and had seven children. Ferdinand Baldia became a member of the Ottakring volunteer fire brigade from 1884, where he was appointed platoon commander in 1909 by the regional association commander Karl Kantner (1850-1925).
Honor
In 1914, Richard Weiskirchner (1861–1926) awarded him citizenship for his services by the mayor of the Imperial and Royal Palace of Vienna .

- 1913-1915: Rental house Vienna 14, Hellmesbergergasse 14 (settlement-like complex, on which several architects worked)
