Ferdinand Kleemann

Ferdinand Kleemann (born January 1, 1829 - † May 9, 1895 in Breslau ) was a German company founder and inventor.

Life

Ferdinand Kleemann began producing and repairing agricultural equipment in Obertürkheim in 1848 . Even then he was using hydropower. In 1857 he founded a file cutting shop in Obertürkheim and in 1860 a volunteer fire brigade . In 1865 he patented a switching mechanism for straw cutting chairs, and in 1867 a high-speed lithographic press. A patent for a safety lock on pump wells followed in 1875.

Kleemann was a member of the Freemason Lodge Horus in Breslau and temporarily Provincial Grand Master of Silesia.

Others

The former Villa Kleemann at Uhlbacher Str. 34 in Obertürkheim is now a cultural monument. Even a splinter shelter in Ailenbergstraße in Obertürkheim, the one of the descendants of Ferdinand Kleemann was probably built during World War II has been included in the list of cultural monuments Baden-Wuerttemberg.
