Ferdinand Reiff

Ferdinand Reiff (born June 25, 1897 in Cologne , † June 28, 1991 in Mannheim ) was a German chemist and university professor.

Reiff received his doctorate in 1922 at the University of Leipzig and completed his habilitation in 1932 at the University of Marburg . There he taught as a private lecturer and became an associate professor in 1939. From 1941 to 1945 he worked at the University of Berlin . Reiff became a member of the SA in 1933 and signed the confession of the German professors to Adolf Hitler .

After the end of the war, he headed the research laboratory of the Waldhof pulp factory ("Zewa") from 1947 and also held a teaching position at Heidelberg University . From 1960 he worked for the chemical factory Joh. A. Benckiser ("Calgon"), where he became managing director in 1966.
