Karl Friedrich Ferdinand Schmidt (born January 26, 1818 in Arolsen , † July 20, 1903 in Landau ) was a German forester and politician .

Schmidt was the son of the district forester Georg Schmidt and his wife Friederike née Jungbluth. He married Louise Heyne on October 26, 1853 in Blomberg. In 1846 Schmidt joined the forestry service as a forestry assistant in Mosterholz near Baarsen. In 1854 he became a district forester in Bergheim before he was transferred to Freienhagen in 1867 and to Stormbruch in 1869. In 1873 he became chief forester in Landau. In 1888 he retired.

From 1851 to 1852 he was a member of the state parliament of the Principality of Waldeck-Pyrmont . He was in the XV. Elected constituency.
