Ferdinand Stemmler

Ferdinand Stemmler (born July 30, 1868 in Kronberg im Taunus , † 1939 ) was a German doctor and politician ( center ).

Life

After attending grammar school in Montabaur , Stemmler studied medicine at the universities of Würzburg , Strasbourg and Heidelberg . He passed the examination as a specialist in balneology and was awarded his doctorate in medicine in 1891 (dissertation: Fibroma periglandulare of the ear. A contribution to the study of tumors, especially fibromas. ). Stemmler worked as a spa doctor in Bad Ems from 1892 and took over the management of a balneological practice there a year later. From 1901 to 1939 he was chief physician of the naval hospital. He held the honorary title of medical councilor . He was also a member of the Prussian State Health Council, chairman of the professional association of Reich German spa doctors and board member of the Balneological Society. During his medical practice he wrote several balneological works, in particular on the treatment of chronic bronchial catarrh.

Stemmler was chairman of the Nassau Center Party, head of the city council in Bad Ems and member of the district council of the Unterlahn district . Furthermore he was a member of the main board of the Reichstädtebund and a member of the board of the local political association. In February 1921 he was elected as a member of the Prussian state parliament, to which he belonged until 1932. In parliament he represented constituency 19 (Hessen-Nassau).

Ferdinand Stemmler had been married to the hotelier's daughter Minni Roth since 1893.
