Ferdinand "Ferdi" Tillmann (born June 27, 1932 in Dörnholthausen ) is a German entrepreneur and politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

Tillmann was born the son of a medium-sized entrepreneur. After graduating from high school in 1952 at the Laurentianum Arnsberg high school , he began studying business and economics at the universities of Frankfurt am Main and Cologne , which he completed in 1956 with a business degree. He then worked as an authorized signatory in his parents' company and later took over the management of Tillmann Profil GmbH in Sundern as an independent entrepreneur .

Tillmann was a member of the German Bundestag for six terms from 1972 to 1994 . He was always elected through a direct mandate in North Rhine-Westphalia , represented the constituency of Arnsberg - Soest from 1972 to 1980 and then until 1994 the constituency of Hochsauerlandkreis in parliament. From 1980 to 1994 he was chairman of the sports committee here. He was also a member of the Transport Committee and the Tourism and Tourism Committee. In the CDU / CDU parliamentary group, he was a member of the parliamentary committee.

Public offices

Tillmann was from 1964 to 1974 a member of the council of Stockum and from 1974 to 1979 in the council of Sundern. Tillmann served as district administrator for the Arnsberg district from 1969 to 1972 . From 1994 to 2008 Tillmann was honorary mayor in Stockum .

Honorary positions

From 1959 on, Tillmann was chairman of the Stockum CDU local association for decades. In the following decades he was temporarily chairman of the CDU city association Sundern and a member of the CDU district executive in the Arnsberg district and later in the Hochsauerland district. He was also part of the board of directors of the CDU's middle class association at district and state level. Since 1989 he has been the auditor of the CDU federal association.

For many years he was Vice President of the Bobsleigh and Sled Association for Germany and Chairman of the North Rhine-Westphalian Bobsleigh and Sled Association. At the Kreissportbund Hochsauerlandkreis was from 1994 to 2004 chairman.

Tillmann was temporarily chairman of the MGV Stockum (choral society), the Society for 1,000 Years of Stockum and the Aerospace Forum. Tillmann has been a local home nurse in Stockum since 2008. He has also been the second chairman of the Sundern cultural ring since 2008. He has been supporting the Sundern Heimatbund financially with publications on the history of Sundern since it was founded. This funding runs through the Anna and Ferdinand Tillmann Foundation (short name: Tillmann Foundation ), which he founded. The foundation renovated the Krämerschen Hof and converted it into the Schepes Huaf cultural center . In the Schepes Huaf find u. a. Exhibitions take place. Various clubs such as the Plattduitsken Frauluie and the KFD Stockum theater group have found a club room here.

In 2016 he acquired the building of the former restaurant "Altes Berghaus" in Stockum and financed the renovation. From summer 2016 to autumn 2017 the building was converted into the Academy for Art and Culture and opened in November. The work of the sculptor Johannes Dröge , NRW state prize winner and honorary citizen of Sundern, is exhibited in a permanent exhibition on the top floor . Five artists from the “Berghaus artist community” have their studios on the middle floor. An exhibition hall for temporary exhibitions is located on the ground floor.
