Ferdinand Trautmann

Ferdinand Trautmann (born March 20, 1833 in Wittenberg ; † May 4, 1902 in Berlin ) was a German doctor and university professor.

Life

Ferdinand Trautmann studied medicine as a pupil of the medical and surgical Friedrich Wilhelm Institute in Berlin. In 1853 he became a member of the Corps Normannia there . In 1857 he was promoted to Dr. med. PhD. He then trained in ear medicine with Hermann Schwartze in Halle an der Saale and Hermann Friedrich Wendt in Leipzig. From 1873 he practiced as an ear specialist first in Breslau and later in Berlin. In 1876 he became a lecturer in ear medicine at the University of Berlin. In 1888 he was appointed associate professor. In 1894 he became director of the department for ear patients at the Charité .

In addition to his medical and scientific work, Trautmann was a military doctor until 1887. As such, he took part in the German War and the Franco-German War . In 1869 he had the rank of medical officer. When he retired from active military service, he was promoted to general doctor.
