Ferdinand Vach
Ferdinand Vach (born February 25, 1860 in Jažlovice near Říčany , † February 16, 1939 in Brno ) was a Czech musician .
From 1871 to 1873 he took part in training as an alto singer in Prague, attended the citizens' school in Wlaschim from 1873 to 1876 and the organist school in Prague until 1885. From 1877 to 1878 he taught in Lešany and until 1880 in Netvořice. This was followed by a job at the J.Jandovský Music Institute in Prague. From 1886 to 1895 and from 1899 to 1905 he worked as director of the Moravan music school in Kremsier , between 1886 as director of the church choir in Olomouc and as a singing teacher at grammar schools. From 1907 to 1909 and 1918 to 1919 he taught organ playing in Brno, then until 1925 as a lecturer at the teachers' institute there.
With his choirs he toured Europe and gave celebrated concerts in 1925 in France, 1927 in Germany, 1928 in Yugoslavia, 1929 in Austria, 1931 in Poland and Lithuania and finally in 1932 in Spain and Portugal.
His greatest successes as a choir master were his work in Weißkirchen in Banat . In 1923 Vach was made Knight of the Order of the Italian Crown. In 1930 Vach was awarded an honorary doctorate from the Philosophical Faculty of Charles University in Prague .
