Ferenc Klics
Ferenc Klics (born January 20, 1924 in Hercegfalva , † April 25, 1993 in Budapest ) was a Hungarian discus thrower .
In 1947 he won the International University Games , and in 1948 he was fifth at the Olympic Games in London . In 1949 and 1951 he won the World Festival of Youth and Students .
A fifth place at the Olympic Games in Helsinki in 1952 was followed by another gold medal at the World Festival of Youth and Students in 1953. In 1954, he was fourth at the European Athletics Championships in Bern .
At the Olympic Games in Melbourne in 1956 he was seventh, at the 1958 European Championships in Stockholm fifth and at the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome tenth. In 1962 he retired from qualifying at the European Championships in Belgrade .
He was Hungarian champion nine times (1946, 1947, 1949–1954, 1957) and twice English champion (1949, 1954). He set his personal best of 55.79 m on July 4, 1954 in Budapest .
