Fernand Dehousse

Fernand Dehousse (born July 3, 1906 , † August 10, 1976 ) was a Belgian politician of the Belgian Workers' Party .

Life

Before the Second World War, Dehousse studied law and social sciences at the University of Liège . Later he taught from 1947 at this university as a university teacher law . Dehousse represented Belgium in the General Assembly of the United Nations . From 1956 to 1959 he was President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe . Dehousse was a member of the European Parliament . He was married to the philologist and university professor Rita Lejeune ; the Belgian politician Jean-Maurice Dehousse is their son.
