Fernando Fernández (actor)
Fernando Fernández Reyes (born November 9, 1916 in Monterrey , † November 24, 1999 in Mexico City ) was a Mexican actor, singer, screenwriter and director.
Fernández went to Mexico City at the age of seventeen and appeared there as a singer on various radio stations. In 1936 Emilio Tuero arranged his first appearance on the XEW broadcaster. With titles like Un corazón , Arrabalera , Callejera , Hipócrita and Traicionera , he became known as El Crooner de México throughout Latin America.
As an actor, Fernández has appeared in more than sixty films, including La feria de las flores (1943), Las abandonadas (1945), Ahí vienen los Mendoza (1948) and Amor vendido (1951). He directed the films El fistol del diablo (1961), Trampa fatal (1961), El ataúd infernal (1962), and Los hermanos Centella (1967). In the 1970s he also had television appearances in Sábados con Saldaña, among others . He had his last actor appearances in Allá en el rancho de las flores (1983) and El sinaloense (1985). From 1942 until his death Fernández was married to the singer Lupita Palomera .
