Fernando Palacios

Fernando Palacios Martínez (born September 4, 1916 in Saragossa , † September 17, 1965 in Madrid ) was a Spanish film director .

Life

After studying the exact sciences (Ciencias exactas), which he graduated in 1941, Palacios turned to film and was assistant director in the 1940s, which he took up again and again later, a. a. with Florián Rey (1894–1962) and Ladislao Vajda .

His first own film was El Tirano de Toledo, made in 1952 as a French co-production (for whose version Henri Decoin was responsible) . In the years up to his untimely death, he directed numerous popular hits among his seventeen films, including the comedies El día de los enamorados (1958) and La gran familia (1962) (to this day one of the greatest financial successes in Spanish film history) as well as several adventure films .
