Fernando Zavala Lombardi (born February 16, 1971 in Tacna ) is a Peruvian politician .

Life

Zavala studied economics in Lima at the Universidad del Pacífico ( Jesuits ) and at the Universidad de Piura ( Opus Dei ). He was president of the brewery company Backus and Johnston Brewery . From 1995 to 2000 he was director of Peru's National Institute for the Defense of Competition and Protection of Intellectual Property (INDECOPI). From August 16, 2005 to July 27, 2006, he was the successor to Pedro Pablo Kuczynski as Minister of Economics and Finance in Peru. As the successor to Pedro Cateriano , he has been Prime Minister of Peru since 2016. Zavala sits on the supervisory boards of Peruvian corporations such as Interbank, Alicorp, inmobiliaria IDE, Cerveceria San Juan, Banco Falabella and Enersur.
