The Ankara long-distance bus station ( Ankara Şehirlerarası Terminal İşletmesi , also Şehirler Arası Otobüs Teminali̇ ), usually abbreviated as "AŞTİ", is the bus station for long-distance bus traffic in the Turkish capital Ankara , municipality of Yenimahalle .

The bus station was officially opened in 1995. The responsible architects were Utarit İzgi , Asım Mutlu , Esat Suher , Yılmaz Zenger , Ünal Demiraslan & Zühü Müridoğlu . The bus station has several floors. Two superimposed (upper) storeys, separated by storeys, each provide ground-level access to the arriving and departing buses, which are brought up to the gallery-style boarding and disembarking areas at the rear of the building via ramps. With its rear closed to general traffic, the system resembles an airport terminal. AŞTİ is the second largest of its kind in Turkey with a total area of 228,520 m² . The floor area of the building is 128,520 m². There is a connection to the AŞTİ metro station on the Ankaray line.
The management was incumbent on the General Directorate ( Genel Müdürlük ) of the İşletme ve İştirakler Daire Başkanlığı (Presidium of the Department “Companies and Investments”) of the Ankara City Administration (about: General Directorate for the Bus Station) until December 31, 1997 . This construction would correspond in Germany roughly one -house operation .
As of January 1, 1998, the management of the company was transferred to BUGSAŞ by winning a tender . a. is responsible for the construction site management as well as the operation of the two subway areas (Ankaray and Metro) . Since then, this company has had its headquarters at the long-distance bus station.

There are several restaurants available to travelers , including six fast-service restaurants (three each in the arrival and departure areas) and four tea rooms. In addition to souvenir shops and a supermarket, the bus station also has a total of 85 shops for goods of all kinds, insurance agencies, car rentals, a medical station and a hammam .
Petrol stations and repair workshops are available for the buses .
