The Baku TV Tower is a 310 meter high TV tower in the Azerbaijani capital Baku, completed in 1996 . It has a viewing platform and a revolving restaurant at a height of 175 meters, which was opened in 2008. The tower is a landmark and the most important landmark of the city and is often the subject of various establishing shots .

The plans to build the television tower date back to the 1970s and were approved by the Council of Ministers of the USSR on the proposal of the Ministry of Communications. Construction began in 1979 and should have finished in 1985. Only when Heydər Əliyev returned , the work was resumed in 1993 and finally completed in 1996. The tower has been illuminated at night since 2004 and has its own lighting scheme, depending on different occasions.

A 250 manat face stamp issued by the country on October 6, 1997 shows the portrait of Hussein Jumshud oglu Rasulbeyov, the former Minister of Communications of Azerbaijan. The Azeri television tower can be seen in the background.
