The tower is located in Kaeson Park, a section of Moranbong Park , in the Moranbong-guyŏk district north of Kim-Il-sung Stadium . Its base consists of a truncated cone with portholes arranged in two rows , similar to the Ostankino television tower in Moscow . On the tower shaft there are four ring-shaped platforms for technical equipment and directional antennae at 34.5 meters, 65 meters, 67.5 meters and 85 meters . At a height of 94 to 101 meters there is a three-storey tower cage with a viewing platform , which is temporarily open to the public.
