Ferruccio Musitelli

Ferruccio Adriano Musitelli Tagliafico , also Ferruccio Mussitelli (born August 25, 1927 in Pando , Uruguay , † January 30, 2013 ) was a Uruguayan filmmaker and documentary filmmaker.

Ferruccio Musitelli spent his childhood in the Italian "Túnez". He began his career in 1946 as a cameraman on the Uruguay al Día news program directed by Joaquín Martínez Arboleya . From 1947 he worked as a cameraman and editor for Hugo Luis Arredondo's news program "Emelco" . In the same year he worked as cameraman for the film "Amor fuera de hora" by José Gaspar Serra . In the period that followed, until 1954, he held the position of technical director at the aforementioned news magazines, which had since been merged into Noticias Uruguayas SA (NUSA). That year he started his own film production company. There he produced a large number of documentaries both at home and abroad in the years that followed. Clients here included UNESCO , television broadcasters and German production companies. In 1961, the short film "La ciudad en la playa" was one of his most important works. From 1960 to 1967 he worked for the American news broadcaster ABC as head of the news division. In December 1977 he moved to Italy . There Musitelli was also extensively active in the documentary film sector, but also worked as a cameraman and photographic director in the feature film sector. In 1987 he returned to his native country. There he worked from 1987 to 1992 at the Facultad de Ciencias de la Comunicación (Faculty of Communication Studies) of the Universidad de la República as a lecturer in communication studies . He has also written on cinematic topics for El Diario , Acción and El Bien Público . He was also a jury member of the Fondo para el Fomento y Desarollo de la Producción Audiovisual (FONA) and held seminars at the Universidad ORT and the Escuela de Cinematografía de Cinaemateca .
