Ferry Mesman

Ferry MesmanFebruary 12,  1925October 20,  2003 ) was a Dutch football player .

Mesman played in the early 1950s for FC Blauw Wit from Amsterdam, with whom he was the top division champion in the 1949/50 season and second behind Limburgia Brunssum in the final round of the Dutch championship ; in the following season Blauw-Wit repeated the championship and penetrated again into the championship finals. Mesman was later professional and made 1956-1960 104 games in the Eredivisie , the first two years of BVC Amsterdam and after the merger of BVC and Door Wilskracht Sterk (DWS) for DWS / A .

Together with his team mate, goalkeeper Herman van Raalte , who had made 1948 his only international match, Mesman belonged to the squad of Bondscoach Jaap van der Leck for the friendly in Basel on 15 October 1950. While Van Raalte against Switzerland again Piet Kraak the Had to give way and be content with a seat on the bench, defender Mesman was allowed to play from the start. At the score of 4: 4, however, he was substituted in the 65th minute by Frans van der Klink , who also came to his only international appearance; Switzerland won the match 7-5.
