Ferry Stocker

Ferry Stocker (* 1961 in Lienz , East Tyrol ) is an Austrian economist.

Stocker studied at the Vienna University of Economics and Business from 1981 after completing high school in Villach and the Abitur course at the Commercial Academy I in Klagenfurt . In 1986 he obtained his master's degree in commercial science, then studied economics and earned his doctorate (with distinction) in 1991. From 1987 to 1997 he was assistant at the Institute for Economic Theory and Policy, also at the Vienna University of Economics, under J. Hanns Pichler . He then moved to the Wiener Neustadt University of Applied Sciences as head of the course for "Economics" , where he was also the chairman of the college from 1999 to 2009. During this time, together with a team of scientists and practitioners, he set up the economics courses at the Wiener Neustadt University of Applied Sciences and was also in charge of converting the diploma courses to the Bologna structure (Bachelor-Master). In addition, he was involved in the Austrian University of Applied Sciences Conference (FHK) and was a board member and head of the FHK committee for quality management.

From 1994 to 2016 he was Head of Department for Economics and Philosophy of Science at the Wiener Neustadt University of Applied Sciences . Ferry Stocker is lecturer in economics at the Vienna University of Economics of the Technical University of Vienna , the Modul University Vienna and the Danube University Krems . His teaching activities also take him to foreign colleges and universities. He regularly writes comments on economic topics in the Austrian daily newspaper Die Presse , in forums and specialist journals and gives lectures for companies and institutions on current economic issues.

In addition to applied microeconomics (market studies and cost-benefit analyzes), Stocker's research focuses on theoretical and empirical financial market research (e.g. the Austrian market for corporate bonds) and central issues relating to European monetary integration.
