Festival MúsicaMallorca
The MúsicaMallorca Festival is a classical music concert series in Palma , Mallorca , Spain , founded in 2002 by opera director and musicologist Toyo Masanori Tanaka , dramaturge and cultural manager Wolf D. Bruemmel and the Islas Balears government.
Toyo Masanori Tanaka was artistic director from 2002 to 2015. Since 2015 the general manager Wolf D. Bruemmel has been the executive and artistic director.
The patrons are the Government of the Balearic Islands and the Island Council of Mallorca. The concerts take place annually from the beginning of October to the end of April. Repertoire: Opera gala, chamber opera, orchestral concerts, symphony concerts, chamber concerts, church concerts.
Affiliated to the festival are the “Master Class Singing”, which have been directed by Sylvia Geszty , René Kollo , Siegfried Jerusalem , Sylvia Greenberg , Enrico Facini and Cheryl Studer . In 2019 the master class was expanded to become the “Academia de Música del Festival MúsicaMallorca”, which Stephan Matthias Lademann has taken over as artistic director . Also the Orquesta Sinfónica del Festival MúsicaMallorca, founded in 2005 by Toyo Masanori Tanaka and Olivier Tardy , who was also its chief conductor until 2009. Since 2009 it has been under the direction of José María Moreno.
