Festival Unruhr is a German festival that focuses on promoting theater youth clubs .

history

The Unruhr Festival was brought into being in 2002 by the theater educators Bernhard Deutsch ( Theater an der Ruhr ) and Martina Droste ( Theater Dortmund ). The festival gave young theater people who had their first experience in acting the opportunity to network. The festival changes its venue every year or is organized as a traveling festival (e.g. 2010). Participants are the theaters from the following cities: Mülheim an der Ruhr , Essen , Duisburg , Oberhausen , Hagen , Castrop-Rauxel , Dortmund and Bochum .

In terms of content, Unruhr has been continuously developed without abandoning its principles: no selection jury, no prize, no competition, but rather an exchange between the theater actors is the focus. Each of the theaters is represented with a performance. The different forms of work and presentation are shown and presented to each other, and then the analyzing conversation about the performances and the theater is sought. In addition, there are several workshops in which professional theater makers give the participating young people space to try out a wide variety of theatrical forms for themselves. A festival in the spirit of the theater pedagogues of the theaters of the Ruhr area, whose successful, long-term collaboration is manifested in Unruh® .
