The 56th Festivali i Këngës took place from December 21 to 23, 2017. As the winner went Eugent Bushpepa with his song selbstgeschriebenden Mall forth. With this song he represented Albania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon (Portugal). He qualified for the final and reached eleventh place there.
concept
format
The show again consisted of three programs in 2017: two semi-finals and the final. First eleven participants competed with their songs against each other in the semifinals. Seven of them each qualified for the final. In the final, the 14 qualifiers from each of the two semi-finals competed against each other.
The winner was determined by a jury. It consisted of Adrian Hila, Limoz Dizdari, Zana Çela, Ilirian Zhupa and Markelian Kapedani.
Choice of contribution
As in previous years, RTSH again called for contributions to FiK to be submitted. On November 13, 2017, RTSH announced that it had received a total of 70 entries.
Moderation
On November 13, 2017, RTSH announced that Adi Krasta will host the festival. He moderated it in 1997, 1999, 2002, 2003 and 2006.
He was also accompanied by Joniha Shedu.
Attendees
On November 13, 2017, RTSH announced all 22 participants. These were selected by a five-person jury consisting of Markelian Kapidani, Luan Zhegu, Ben Andoni, Sokol Marsi and Edmond Rapi. The following participants thus appeared:
