Luiz Ejlli

Luiz Ejlli (born July 12, 1985 in Shkodra ) is an Albanian singer who reached the semifinals at the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 .

Life

Luiz Ejlli was born in Shkodra, where he attended the Prenk Jakova school between 1991 and 2002. In 1995 he won first prize at a children's song festival in his hometown. In 2004 he took part in the Albanian edition of Pop Idol ; he took first place. In the following year he took part for the first time in the Festivali i Këngës , the music competition of the television channel RTSH , which is also the Albanian preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest . With Hëna dhe yjet dashurojnë , he took second place.

In December 2005 he took part again in the competition and this time won with the song Zjarr e ftohtë . In 2006 he was the third participant from Albania in the Eurovision Song Contest . With the 14th place in the semifinals, he did not reach the final. He was the first male participant in the country and also the first representative to sing in the national language.

In 2009 Luiz took part again in the duet with Juliana Pasha at the Festivali i Këngës and took second place with Një jetë ( German  one life ). With her he had again rehearsed a song for the singing competition Kënga Magjike 2010 , with which they won the television show.
