Anjeza Shahini (* 4. May 1987 in Tirana ) is an Albanian pop - singer . As the first representative of Albania , she took part in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2004 with the song The Image of You .

Life

At the age of 16, Anjeza took part in the casting show Ethet e së Premtes Mbrëma . Together with the singer Klajdi Musabelliu, she performed the piece You're the One That I Want from Grease in the finale , which brought her the victory.

After this success she took part in December 2003 at the Festivali i Këngës , a song festival of the Albanian state television TVSH . With the song Imazhi Yt (Your picture) , Anjeza was voted the winner by the TV viewers and the jury. The melody of the song comes from Edmond Zhulali, the Albanian original text by Agim Doçi. As the winner of the Festivali i Këngës , she also qualified for the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 in Istanbul .

Her song Imazhi Yt was translated into English for the European competition . In order for the four and a half minute original to meet the competition guidelines, the song had to be shortened to three minutes, which was achieved, among other things, by a faster rhythm. With her presentation, Shahini qualified for the final on May 12, 2004. The European audience gave her 106 points, which put her in seventh place, the best result of an Albanian participant until 2012 .

In 2005 she signed a contract with the Vienna management company ICTM . Also in 2005 Anjeza took part in the Festivali i Këngës . With the song Pse ndal? (Why stop?) But did not make it into the top three. In 2006 she studied and worked on her first album in Vienna. In September 2007 she finished her pop, rock and jazz music studies and returned to Albania with the intention of continuing to work on her career.

In the summer of 2008 she released her first album called Erdhi momenti . The songs on the album were composed by Adrian Hila and her older sister Bela. Music videos were produced for the songs Erdhi Momenti and Lot Pendimi .

In 2009 she achieved second place at the Festivali i Këngës with the song Në pasqyrë (In the Mirror) , composed by Sokol Marsi. In December 2012 she again achieved second place with the song Love at the Festivali i Këngëss . In 2014, she performed the song Energji on the music show Kënga Magjike , after releasing the song Magnet earlier in the year .
