List of cooperative banks in Germany

The savings and credit bank of the Federal Free Evangelical Churches eG (SKB) with its seat in Witten (therefore often referred to as SKB Witten) is a cooperative bank . It was founded in 1925 by the Federation of Free Protestant Congregations in Germany (BFeG). The founders' idea was to set up a self-help organization that would give free Protestant congregations loans for construction work. Their purpose was to provide otherwise hard-to-get loans to build community centers.

Services

In contrast to an “ordinary bank ”, it charges relatively low interest rates. Some offers are limited to members and friends of free evangelical congregations.

Availability

As SKB Witten does not have its own branches, it is affiliated with the Federal Association of German Volksbanks and Raiffeisenbanks . For example, account statements can be created on account statement printers of the VR-Banken.
