The fire station Leopoldau is under monument protection ( list entry standing) building that originally the Vienna fire brigade in Leopoldau in the 21st district of Vienna Floridsdorf belonged.

history

The Leopoldau fire station was built either around 1914 or 1927 on the Anger von Leopoldau between the two lanes. The so-called Steigerturm was later added to the northwest corner of the building.

In 1996 the Leopoldau fire station was closed and replaced by the new main fire station in Floridsdorf on Josef-Brazdovics-Strasse . The empty building was then used as a rehearsal room by the Leopoldau Music Association, among others . In 2010, the Leopoldau fire station was sold to the neighboring Syrian Orthodox Church, Parish of Holy Mary Mother of God. In 2016 the building was adapted for a kindergarten and an annex was built on the north side.
