The Fiat CR.32 was an Italian biplane - fighter of the 1,933th
history
The first flight of the CR.32 took place on April 28, 1933. The CR.32 subsequently became the Regia Aeronautica's standard fighter aircraft . In the Spanish Civil War it flew on the side of Francisco Franco's nationalists . It was often superior to the Republican hunters, with the exception of the I-16 Polikarpov . The Fiat CR.32 was exported to many countries. The successor model was the Fiat CR.42 .
construction
The main feature was the shorter lower wings, so strictly speaking the machine was a one -and- a -half-decker .
commitment
The CR.32 was used in the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939), the Slovak-Hungarian War and World War II . From 1934 to 1939 it was the most widely used aircraft in the Italian Air Force . It was very popular with pilots because of its maneuverability. At the beginning of the Second World War, however, it was already out of date for use at the front. From 1942 it was used for night missions or as a training aircraft, as it had no chance against modern fighters.
