Fiction Factory was a British pop band from Perth , Scotland that existed from 1983 to 1987 .

Career

The band was formed in 1983. It consisted of singer Kevin Patterson, guitarist Chic Medley, bassist Graham McGregor, keyboardist Eddie Jordan and drummer Mike Ogletree .

With the title (Feels Like) Heaven Fiction Factory released their first single in 1983, which became their first and biggest hit. They achieved top 10 placements in several countries (10th place in Germany, 2nd place in Switzerland and 6th place in Great Britain). Her first studio album, Throw the Warped Wheel Out , was released in 1984 and hit the German and Swiss charts. With the follow-up single Ghost of Love Fiction Factory were able to reach the charts again. In Germany the song rose to number 49, in Great Britain to number 64.

The second album Another Story and other singles were not very successful on the market, whereupon the band broke up in 1987. With the exception of drummer Ogletree, all band members then turned away from the music business, for example singer Patterson now works in the IT department at the University of Dundee . In July 2011, after 24 years at the Rewind Festival in Henley-on-Thames, Fiction Factory was reunited with almost all the original cast .

Feels Like Heaven was covered almost simultaneously by Avalon and Dario G in dance floor style in 2002, and also by Manic Street Preachers in 2016 .
