Fidel Binz (born November 22, 1850 in Mahlberg ; † 1920 ) was a German sculptor .

Fidel Binz was born the son of a privateer in Mahlberg in the Ortenau region. On October 24, 1868, he began studying at the sculpture school of the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich . Later he had a workshop for tomb art and building sculpture in Karlsruhe , in which he trained the then 15-year-old Theodor Hengst from 1874 . In particular, his models for electroplating , which he made for WMF's electroplating department in Geislingen an der Steige , were very much appreciated. Many have survived in German (and formerly German) cemeteries.

Binz was married to Clementine Binz geb. Klages (1854–1947), they had three children. His son Hermann Binz (1876–1946) also became a sculptor. Fidel Binz died in 1920 and was buried in the main cemetery in Karlsruhe . One of his tomb sculptures adorns his grave.
