The Gemmersdorf branch church in the parish of St. Andrä in Lavanttal is dedicated to St. Laurentius and belongs to the parish of Maria Rojach .

A church in Gemmersdorf was first mentioned in 1145 and named as a parish in 1314. In 1660 a landslide destroyed the church.

Today's church is largely a baroque building, only the walls of the nave are partly medieval and the west portal is Gothic . The tower with twin windows and a pyramid helmet was added to the eastern end of the choir in the 19th century.

A barrel vault with stitch caps rises above the two-bay nave . The wooden west gallery on pillars dates from the 19th century. A round-arched triumphal arch connects the nave with the single -bay choir with three-eighth end and groin vault. The vault paintings from 1884 are labeled "A. Fantoni".

The uniform arrangement of the church in simple neo-baroque forms emerged in the 19th century. The high altar with a niche retable in neo-renaissance form bears the statues of Saints Laurentius, Bartholomäus and Martin . The two side altars are decorated with canvas paintings from the 18th century.
