The groundbreaking ceremony for the new church took place on August 15, 1987, and exactly one year later, on August 15, 1988, the first service was celebrated in the still unfinished church. The completion took place on December 24th, 1988, which was celebrated in the Christmas mass. The church was consecrated on March 27, 1989. This was preceded by the consecration of the bells. On April 4, 1994 the organ and on March 4, 2001 the Way of the Cross in the church could be consecrated. From 1784 to 2019, the village was an independent parish until it was merged with the parish of Gmunden.

Location description

Stained glass window

The glass window in the altar wall shows the way up into the light in bright colors and with a clearly recognizable upward movement. It is a symbol of the resurrection of the people. It was created by Peter Bischof . The glass windows in the front left and right were only used in 1999, on the occasion of the tenth anniversary. Both are by the same artist and depict the biblical themes “The Transfiguration of Christ” on the left and “The Lord will come in glory” on the right.

Furnishing

The tabernacle is highlighted by a concrete glass window by Peter Bischof. The cross on the altar wall was created around 1780 and was created by an unknown artist. The transom was added at a later date. The “Madonna and Child” carved out of wood to the left of the chancel comes from the artist Joseph Moser from Neukirchen near Altmünster . Maria Schwarz from Vienna created the Way of the Cross .

organ

The organ comes from the organ builder Bruno Riedl from Linz . It has 17 registers and 1030 pipes. The organ was consecrated on Easter Monday 1994 by the Bishop of Linz, Maximilian Aichern .
