The Roman Catholic branch church Prinzersdorf stands on a spacious square north of the thoroughfare in the market town of Prinzersdorf in the St. Pölten-Land district in Lower Austria . The church, consecrated to the Holy Family , belongs to the Melk deanery in the diocese of St. Pölten . The branch church is a listed building .

history

The branch church was built from 1961 to 1966 according to the plans of the architect Julius Bergmann. The branch church of the Gerersdorf parish church has been part of the Gerersdorf-Prinzersdorf parish since 1966.

architecture

The skeleton church shows itself as a ship of Petri and as an expressionist building with a dominant facade tower and roofs that suggest movement and ascending and descending. The east facade shows a monumental mosaic Holy Family by the painter Hermann Bauch (1968).

Furnishing

The monumental hanging crucifix in the choir was created by the sculptor Josef Rifesser (1968). The group of figures Holy Family and the Crossways Reliefs (1978) and the statue of Maria Immaculata (1981) were created by the sculptor Peter Dimmel .

The organ was built by Philipp Eppel (1970).
