Staudachhof branch church
The Staudachhof branch church is located in the Metnitz Valley in the municipality of Friesach . The church, consecrated to St. Rupert of Salzburg , was mentioned for the first time in 1464 and belongs to the parish of St. Salvator.
The church is a small, flat-roofed late Romanesque building with a rib - vaulted quintuple choir , a brick-built polygonal porch, wooden turrets and a beveled Gothic pointed arch portal . The original Romanesque windows on the south wall were walled up.
The high altar from the end of the 17th century consists of an aedicula over a small base, lateral ornamental borders for console figures and a blasted segmented gable with a small aedicule as an attachment. The base, entablature and the side borders as well as the side ears on the top are adorned with acanthus , the segments are decorated with angel figures. The altar bears the statue of St. Rupert, flanked by St. Benedict and Sebastian . The figure of the Archangel Michael can be seen in the essay .
The left side altar, created around 1680, consists of a small aedicule over a base, lateral cartilage ears and two obelisks as an attachment. The altar contains the statue of St. Oswald . The former top group of the altar, a coronation of Mary , is now in the Diocesan Museum in Klagenfurt . The structure and decoration of the right side altar resembles the left one and shows Saint Sebastian in the top.
The pulpit made around 1680 is placed on the floor. The church also has a carved annunciation group and console figures of the princes of the apostles Peter and Paul .
