Filoreta is a genus of amoeboid protists from the Cercozoa tribe. It is the only genus in the Filoretidae familyand is currently the only one in the Reticulosida order.
features
The representatives are flagellated , mainly sea-dwelling root pods that feed on bacteria . They form extensive, multicellular networks: cell bodies of different shapes and sizes are connected by cytoplasmic strands. The shape of the strands range from 0.1 micrometers in diameter to wide, leaf-like structures, but fine strands are always present. The flow in the cytoplasm can be bidirectional, go predominantly or entirely in one direction, or change direction. There are no conspicuous granules in this genus.
