history

Finanz Verlag was founded in 1990. On January 26, 1990, the first issue of the monthly finance magazine appeared. In 1996, Axel Springer AG acquired 74.9 percent of the publisher.

In 1998 the first edition of the weekly financial newspaper € uro am Sonntag was published, which is aimed at private investors.

In 2001 Springer bought the remaining shares and renamed the publishing house Axel Springer Finanz Verlag, later AS Financial Media. At the end of 2004 the company took over the monthly magazine DM-Euro from the Handelsblatt publishing group and merged it with the magazine Finanz. From January the new magazine appeared under the name € uro.

As part of the digitization course, Springer also withdrew from the printed business media segment in 2010 and sold the magazines to a holding company that continued the publishing house with the previous managing director Frank-Bernhard Werner .

In 2013, the publisher took over the investor magazine Börse Online and the Internet portal boerse-online.de from Gruner + Jahr .

In 2016, Finanz Verlag took a stake in Tichys Blick GmbH, in which the opinion page tichyseinblick.de appears. Finanz Verlag has been publishing the magazine of the same name since October 2016.

Courage, Germany's first regularly published money and career magazine for women, will appear for the first time in 2020. The associated website courage-online.de will be live from autumn 2019.
