Frank-Bernhard Werner

Frank-Bernhard Werner (* 1961 ) is a German publisher and business journalist .

Life

Werner studied economics at the Georg-August-University of Goettingen ( graduate economist ) and in 1987 with a thesis Short-term exchange rate fluctuations and new markets for hedging instruments doctorate .

He then started at Markt + Technik Verlag near Munich. There he co-founded the stock exchange magazine Börse Online and was its editor-in-chief from 1988 to 1989 . In 1990 he co-founded the Finanz Verlag in Munich, in which Axel Springer AG took a majority stake in 1996 . He then became managing director of Axel Springer Financial Media and editor-in-chief of the magazines Euro and Euro am Sonntag . Werner was also Jörg Kachelmann's partner at Meteomedia and took over the interim management there in 2010. In 2010 the previously sold publisher was bought back with a holding company and in 2012 the art magazine Artinvestor (now Artcollector) was acquired. A year later, Börse Online was acquired by Gruner + Jahr . In 2013 he gave up the editor-in-chief of all newspapers in order to concentrate on the management activities.

He was a juror for the German Financial Book Prize and the Helmut Schmidt Journalist Prize .

Werner is the father of three sons.
