View from Finckenfang to Wilisch
The hill, which is visible from afar, is located in the municipality of Müglitztal south of the Maxen district on the northern geological border of the Eastern Ore Mountains ( Karsdorfer Fault ).
The view is determined by the mountains of the Lausitzer Bergland , the Elbe Sandstone Mountains with the Lilienstein and the Königstein fortress as well as the Erzgebirge ridge.
history
The Finckenfang is named after the Prussian General von Finck , who was captured in the battle of Maxen on November 21, 1759. However, the arrest itself was not made on this mountain, but in Ploschwitz .
