Finn Wiesner

Finn Wiesner (* 1969 in Berlin ) is a German jazz musician ( tenor saxophone ).

Wiesner studied with Ferdinand Povel at the Hilversums Conservatory of the “Amsterdam University of the Arts” up to a diploma. He was a founding member of the J. Moods Quartet , with whom he recorded the first album in 1995. Then he went back to Germany and led his own groups. He played u. a. with Vincent Herring , Deborah Brown , Gunther Schuller , Lyambiko , Heinrich Köbberling , Marc Muellbauer and Brandicity . He also worked for Lyambiko as a composer and songwriter.

Wiesner has held a professorship for saxophone at the Carl Maria von Weber Academy of Music in Dresden since 2010 . As part of the university there were performances with Till Brönner , Celine Rudolph and Günter Baby Sommer . He continues on albums with Andrej Hermlin & Swing Dance Orchestra , the mainstream Orchestra of Helmut Brandt and the New German Art Orchestra under Lars Seniuk heard.
