Heinrich Köbberling (born February 23, 1967 in Arolsen ) is a German jazz drummer.

Live and act

Köbberling studied drums at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater and the New School in New York. He has taught at the music academies in Hanover and Hamburg and has been professor for drums at the Leipzig University of Music and Theater since 2007 .

Köbberling worked with musicians such as Gunter Hampel , Richie Beirach , Ernie Watts , Benny Bailey , Ben Monder , Attila Zoller , Anat Fort , Jan Delay and Alexander von Schlippenbach . In 1996 he appeared with Lisa Parrott and Chris Lightcap in the Knitting Factory in the trio PLK, which released the album Bab Bab (Goat Angel Records) in 1998 and toured Germany.

He is a member of several bands, including the Ernie Watts Quartet Europe , the Julia Hülsmann Trio , the Rolf Zielke Trio and the groups Lyambiko & Band and Nur three words (with Andreas Henze and Kai Brückner ); he also worked with Aki Takase and the Good Boys . In addition to more than forty albums as a sideman and in collaborative bands, Köbberling released three albums under his own name.
