Ben Monder (born May 24, 1962 in New York City ) is an American jazz guitarist.

Monder studied at the University of Miami and Queens College and lives in New York, where he a. a. with Jack McDuff , Marc Johnson , Lee Konitz , George Garzone , Tim Berne , Rashied Ali , Karl Berger , Herb Robertson , Perry Robinson , Michał Urbaniak , Michael Formanek , Scott McLemore , Bobby Avey , in the band Right Brain Patrol with Arto Tunçboyacıyan and Marc Johnson, the Carnegie Hall Jazz Orchestra , the Kenny Wheeler Large Ensemble and Guillermo Klein's Los Guachos have performed. He is a member of the Maria Schneider Jazz Orchestra , the Lee Konitz New Nonet and Paul Motian's Electric Bebop Band . With Drew Gress and Tom Rainey he founded his own trio.

Monder toured with Jack McDuff's band and took part in the European tour of Joris Dudli's New York Project . So far he has appeared on over seventy CDs as a sideman and has released several albums as a band leader: 1995 Flux (with Jim Black and Drew Gress), 1997 Dust (with Jim Black and Ben Street ) and No Boat (with Jim Black, Theo Bleckmann and Skúli Sverrisson ), 2000 Excavation (as cast as No Boat ) and 2005 Oceana (with Theo Bleckmann, Kermit Driscoll , Ted Poor and Skuli Sverrisson). He also presented an album with Kristjan Randalu .
