Kai Brückner
Kai Brückner (* 1969 in West Berlin ) is a German jazz guitarist .
Live and act
Kai Brückner is a son of the German actor and voice actor Christian Brückner . He started playing guitar when he was eight. In his childhood years he was a voice actor . From 1979 he was the German voice of Ricky Schroder , whom he also spoke in 1980 in Der kleine Lord . In 1982 he spoke his last role. During his youth, which he spent between 1984 and 1986 in Larchmont , a small town in the New York City catchment area , he took lessons from John Abercrombie . He has been active as a musician in Berlin since 1989. From 1990 to 1994 he studied at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin with David Friedman , Sigi Busch and Jerry Granelli, among others . During a further stay in New York from 1994 to 1995 he continued his education with John Abercrombie, Mike Stern and Wayne Krantz . He has toured North America several times with Granelli and his band UFB . In 1999, a scholarship from the Berlin Senate enabled participation in the jazz workshop in Banff, Canada .
He pursues his own projects such as MicroBazaar (with Thomy Jordi and Sebastian Merck) and Yakou Tribe , with which he has also toured in Africa and India, as well as the Lone World Trio with his father. He also played with Tilmann Dehnhard , Jocelyn B. Smith , Pepe Berns , Lisa Bassenge , Maria Farantouri , Zülfü Livaneli , Andreas Schnermann and Esther Kaiser. He toured China with Thärichens Tentett , recorded a CD with Tanmoy Bose with The Taal Tantra Experience and performed in India. He also wrote film music for ZDF and Arte, and composed for audio books .
