Rainer Winch

Rainer Winch (born October 10, 1968 in Hanover ) is a German modern jazz musician ( drums , percussion ).

Live and act

From 1991 Winch studied jazz drums at the Hochschule der Künstler Berlin ; studies at the Canadian Banff Center of the Arts (1994) and in New York followed. With the JazzIndeed group , he won the Berlin Senate's studio competition. He initially belonged to Julia Hülsmann's trio and participated in record productions by Paul Brody , the Kai Brückner / Jan von Klewitz Quartet, Lisa Bassenge , Johannes Kersthold , Jacobien Vlasman, Dirk Homuth and the band Yakou Tribe . He also played with musicians such as Kenny Wheeler , Jim Hall , Joe Haider , Sigi Busch , Mark Levine and Wolfgang Muthspiel as well as on live performances by Jazzanova .

Since 2000 he has been a lecturer at the “giant steps” workshop at the Landesmusikakademie.
