history

The bank was founded in 1868 by various personalities from the Lenzburg district under the name Hypothekar- und Leihkasse Lenzburg . One of the founding members was the then National Councilor Theodor Bertschinger , who headed the bank as the first bank president between 1868 and 1889.

The primary goal was to grant mortgage loans in the Lenzburg region. From the beginning of the 20th century, it expanded its services to include securities and asset management. In 1912 the Hypothekar- und Leihkasse Lenzburg was renamed Hypothekarbank Lenzburg . In the course of the decades it transformed into a regional universal bank .

Core banking system

With Finstar, Hypothekarbank Lenzburg has developed its own core banking system, which is also open to third-party banks and other companies. It is the first open banking platform in the sense of PSD2 in Switzerland. This means that offers from third-party providers can be linked to the system via a standardized programming interface . The Sonect virtual ATM was integrated as the first such offer . In March 2018 it was announced that the Fintech Neon will use the platform. Anyone who registers to use the neon app automatically becomes a customer of Hypothekarbank Lenzburg. At the beginning of 2019, a Finstar branch opened in Zurich.
