The Kastner Group ( KASTNER GroßhandelsgesmbH ) is an independent, medium-sized, Austrian family business in the food trade that has developed from a country department store to a wholesaler since it was founded in 1828. The company currently employs around 900 people at nine locations ( Amstetten , Eisenstadt , Gmünd , Jennersdorf , Krems , Vienna (2 locations), Zagging , Zwettl ).

Companies

Kastner supplies around 260 A&O / Nah & Frisch retailers and operates 11 Nah & Frisch own branches, acts as a system provider in the convenience area under the “Kastner Stop + Shop” brand and promotes organic wholesale in Austria with the company Biogast. With seven pick-up markets and the catering delivery wholesaler, around 9,500 delivery customers and 33,000 pick-up customers are served. According to his own statements, Kastner is Austria's first multi-specialist wholesaler in many sectors.

With the brand “Kastner Crockery & Co”, the company is the second largest non-food wholesaler for catering and kitchen equipment in Austria.

KASTNER HandelsgesmbH

The Brückler company was originally an independent Nah & Frisch wholesaler based in Jennersdorf for Burgenland and Southeast Styria, since 2003 the company has been 100% integrated into the Kastner Group and traded as Brückler Großhandelsges.mbH until it was renamed KASTNER HandelsgesmbH on May 1, 2016.

Brückler occupies a special position in the Nah & Frisch association because, despite the status of a subsidiary, it has retained its voting rights in the umbrella organizations Markant Austria and ZEV “Nah & Frisch” Marketingservice GmbH . So all five wholesalers act as shareholders: Brückler, Kastner, Pfeiffer, Wedl and Kiennast , although there are only four company groups left. As a result, Kastner as a group holds 14.28% of ZEV twice.
