The fisher nunatak is a 750 m high nunatak in the East Antarctic Mac-Robertson Land . In the northeastern part of the Framnes Mountains it rises 3 km south of Mount Henderson .
Norwegian cartographers, who named it Sørnuten (Norwegian for southern summit ), mapped it using aerial photographs taken during the Lars Christensen expedition in 1936/37 . Participants in the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions changed their name after setting up a weather station here in 1955 . The new namesake is the skier and mountaineer Henry Jean Louis Fischer (* 1936), who worked as a cook at the Mawson station in 1958 .
