The Fischer Group (spelling: fischer group ) from Achern in the Ortenau district is a manufacturer of stainless steel pipes . In addition to simple welded stainless steel pipes and more complex pipe components, such as more complex pipe sections that have been formed using internal high pressure, the Fischer Group offers specially developed machines for processing pipes and works on environmentally friendly energy solutions, especially stationary fuel cells .
history
The company was founded in 1969 by Hans Fischer in Seebach . Two years later, in 1971, the company was relocated to Achern. From the beginning, the focus was on the manufacture of stainless steel tubes . In the 1970s and 1980s, with the advent of vehicle catalysts , the demand for stainless steel tubes for their manufacture increased. This had a direct positive effect on Fischer's business. Even today, the automotive industry is the Fischer Group's most important customer sector and accounts for around 75% of annual sales, which in 2018 totaled 738 million euros. Further customers of the Fischer Group are active in the food industry, medical technology or energy technology. The household appliance manufacturer Miele purchases vacuum cleaner tubes from fischer. A total of 123 million meters of pipes were manufactured in 2019.
In 2018, the Fischer Group won the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year competition by the auditing company Ernst & Young in the industry category at national level. The Fischer Group is the largest employer in Achern.
